Just as an outdoor water feature in your backyard can create an atmosphere or relaxation, so can an indoor water feature. Enjoy a work of art in the middle of your home that you wouldn’t normally see that has all the pleasures that one can bring to your backyard.

The sound of running water is one of life’s calming natural elements that we all instantly can feel the effects of. Coming home from a long day at work and wanting to unwind. Rather than sit in front of the TV immediately, maybe you just want some way to calm yourself down and just get back to your happy center. Having an indoor water fountain can do this for you, not only when you come home from work but all day long. Not only does it add a calming effect but it also adds the natural beauty of nature right in your home.

The sound of running water or the trickle of rain has a direct effect on our brain. You can instantly feel the effects no matter how stressed you are from your day. It’s a great way to remove yourself from whatever problem is ailing you and just trying to get back to zero. Another helpful part is if you have trouble sleeping. Most of us have heard or maybe have even owned a tape/cd of nature and running water sounds in order to help sleeping. The live version is much more effective, trust me. It’s the calming white noise effect that drowns out all the little noises that can keep us from getting to that total relaxation point where we need to be to finally get to sleep.

Having this in your home also creates a focal point of conversation for anyone who enters your home. It really says a lot about who you are and what you are about. Of course, you want it to be within reason of the surroundings, obviously a huge stone fountain in your bedroom might be a little awkward. The best way to judge would be to talk to a professional who can advise you on what would go well with your home. In the end you can choose what you want but if you are uncertain, it can’t hurt to talk to a pro. This way you can have full insight into not only what you can do but what indoor water features are available. Don’t deny your home of such a useful and beautiful element. Bring calm back into your house and into your life.

If you are talking about “Outdoor Stone Fountains” that could mean many things. You could be talking about a large stone fountain that is the central point of someone’s water garden. Or you could be talking about a small wall water feature that is one or many compliments to someone’s garden. Either way, the added water element is really something many people seek out in order to add to their yard or garden. The look and sound of flowing water brings a peacefulness that can not be duplicated by artificial means. You could listen to a tape of the ocean or water running, but wouldn’t you rather sit in a relaxing area and hear it for yourself?

An authentic outdoor stone fountain is serious business. You can find a large (and usually extremely heavy) stone fountain for your yard in any size you like and or can afford. These babies are not cheap if you are looking to go big. Not only that but they are a bit of a project when it comes to installing it if you are trying to do it yourself. This information is not to discourage you but to give you a real picture of what you will have to do. If you are going to have a professional put it in then you are all set. If you are going to try and do it yourself be sure you are prepared. Depending on what you are going with and the requirements of the fountain, you may need some help just to move the thing. This really isn’t a one man job when it comes to the larger stone fountains.

The best thing you can do is call around and get some advice directly from a professional who knows what they are doing. This way you can get some basic Do’s and Don’ts about your project and this will save you some time and energy trying to figure out some obstacles that you will run into. Most professionals won’t mind pointing you in the right direction even if you aren’t going to hire them. This way if you do need help then you will probably call the guy who gave the best and most free information. Makes sense right?

If you go the professional route then it’s a simple matter of picking out your fountain and letting the Pro do the rest for you. Either way you will end up with one hell of a fountain that will give you hours of relaxation for years to come.

Want to be the envy of all the neighbors in the avenue then a water feature has to be placed into the garden. What ever fancy garden ornamentation that is to be – is entirely up to your own choosing. Because of the many designs and fixtures you may come up against problems in trying to decide what water garden feature to have.

The pond is a water feature found in most gardens today in all shapes and sizes and enhanced to the full with added extras to set the scene. Water lilies – bull rushes and reeds are just a few to mention. But it is the under water life that makes the pond more attractive (fish)
Remember when adding a water feature to the garden – take extra precautions in the safety measures where children are concerned.

Water garden features like the pond and the fish also need care and attention. Ponds have to be cleaned regular and fish need to be fed. Questions that crop up from many water garden owners is how to feed the fish – what type of feed should be used – how much and how often. Well the answer to that is there is no real fixed amount of fish food to give.

Of course there are some important issues on what to feed the fish. You have to take into account the fish`s size its appetite and their delicate digestive system which can differ due to water temperature changes.

Beginning from early spring to late autumn you will find the fish very energetic so it will do no harm to feed them every day. If the fish are prepared to take more then so be it. Remember you are not force feeding them so if the fish don`t want to bite then they wont. However, towards the colder months lessen the frequency of feed intake. Sometimes due to the fishs stillness at winter time then no feed is necessary

Try not to instigate problems for your fish`s well being by denying them the right food.

While the fish are in the mood to dine it is best to serve up a dish that will help them to stay active and healthy. Nourishing fish food is highly recommended. Bread/biscuit meal and ants eggs are less nutritional and can cause problems to the digestive system. Floating pellets filled with high-protein are very nutritious. By feeding the fish this way you get to see more of them as they surface for feeding.

Once the garden is the way you have always dreamed of full of foliage -shrubs and sweet scented flowers and of course your water garden feature – then remember that all the surrounding plant growth will attract insects so feeding the fish at this time is not necessary. Natural food supply should start to continue again with pellets in the autumn, this will help perk the fish up in their preparation to face the winter. Repeat pellet feeding in spring it will help the fish recover more rapidly ready for breeding.

Water features and creatures go hand in hand in adding beauty to the garden. Expect toads – newts and frogs to hang out in the pond area. Your water garden has not only given you a garden ornament that the neighbors would die for – it is the thought of giving a home to natures aquatic water life.

A copper water fountain can be a great addition to your home, whether it is for the backyard, front yard, patio, or even inside your home. There are plenty of styles and designs that you can choose from such as wall, tabletop, floor, and outdoor designs. If care is a concern there are a few things you can do to keep it looking new.

One step to keeping a great looking copper water fountain is to look into clear coated copper fountains, these come with a protective clear coating that will help you tremendously in keeping the fountain looking fresh and clean. Additionally, you can even add turtle wax every couple of months to a clear coated water fountain to add 1 more step of protection to your fountain. You could also use a furniture polishing product if you like. With a clear coated copper fountain, you actually do NOT want to use copper cleaner since it will damage the clear coat.

Cleaning the Pump is not so bad. Just turn the fountain off and remove the pump. Then you will want to grab a rag and clean out the outer casing gently, no need to “scrub”. Then once that is complete, remove the outer casing and wipe off the inside of the pump. Get all the general rubbish found in there like dirt, leaves and bugs. Once that’s done, reassemble, put it back in and make sure the water level is good before turning it on again.

If you decide to go with a general Copper Water Fountain you can use pledge to keep it clean however much you like. Of course if you wish your fountain to get the natural oxidization look, you will not want to use a harsh copper cleaner as it will remove the natural green patina that occurs. The amount of exposure to air, water and sunlight will cause the color to darken. If the copper water fountain is in direct sunlight constantly this will be a big cause of a darkening fountain. Using CLR will help to remove the additional oxidation without damaging the finish, just remember to use it as the instructions tell you too.

Adding a Solar Water Feature to a boring garden will really spruce it up with just that simple addition. You really don’t want to over do it anyway as having too many non-vegetation accessories will make the garden look a little tacky. Having a few key, simple, and quality items will give it an elegant look while not seeming like you are trying too hard.

When trying to choose a Solar Water Feature you are not all that limited. There are plenty of things to choose from such as accessories for Ponds, Birdbaths, Solar Waterfalls, and other similar items. All of these can be as simple or as creative as you like. Keep in mind if you want full solar powered you wont be getting a massive flowing waterfall, but if you are just looking for something that looks nice and maybe adds a little atmosphere with some flowing water, these types of water features should do the trick.

For example, say you already have your own little birdbath in the middle of your garden and maybe want to spice it up just a bit and give it some life. One thing that many people enjoy is a “floating fountain” This will use the water in the birdbath to pump out a little bit of water and create a simple but pleasing fountain out of your birdbath without having to do any kind of construction or running of hoses to it.

Another great idea is the use of a Pond you have. You can add a little solar powered pump to it and give it a little bit of a flow to it, this in turn changes it into a better environment for having fish if that is something you would like. A submerged pump would also be effective if you wish to give your pond fountain feature. Just about anything you can think of works well with any of your pre-existing water features.

A very popular thing to do is creating a waterfall in your garden. There are products available that are premade and can simple be setup in your garden that has a self circulating water system so you can have a waterfall without any water source in the garden. You can also use your pre-existing water source such as a pond to add a solar powered waterfall too.

All of these work great but do need a very sunny area to be of good use. Obviously if its for a garden then sun shouldn’t be an issue. Most of these types of items do come with the option of a battery pack so your solar water feature can work at night and on cloudy days.

The great thing about doing this is not only does it really add some character to your garden or backyard, but the fact that it is effortless to do so. No construction or running of hoses or any kind of power cords. Its all set and ready to go! That by itself would sell me. Having something built into your water system can be a rewarding one but also a huge and costly chore. If you want something quick and easy. Try one of these.

A great way to create a peaceful and relaxing environment in your backyard can all start with a Pondless Water Feature. These days you don’t need to go all out and dig up your yard, spending tons of money adding something that really isn’t necessary. Why put in a pond that will only give you more stress. The cost of installing one alone is no joke. Once that’s done you are stuck with the constant maintenance. It’s like having your own mini pool.

So you agree you don’t want to put up with all that but would like the benefit of having a Pondless Water Feature of some kind. That is no problem! You can have something very simple an inexpensive and still get a nice effect of flowing water and tranquility. At the same time you can have something large and extravagant. It’s up to you!

If you wish, you can have a beautiful flowing water fall in the middle of your garden without any trouble of a pond of any kind. Thanks to a rising trend, there are several of these available in all sorts of styles and designs. Not to mention, several ways of easily building your own.

Perhaps you don’t have a garden or even space for a garden. A simple small bubbling fountain on the front porch or even apartment balcony can easily be achieved. If you want to go bigger, you will need the room. However most reasonably sized fountains do not require all that much space. It all depends on your vision. You do not need to be a professional or higher one. Designing one with a little push in the right direction will not only give you full control over what the final product looks like, but lets you have a sense of accomplishment and will give you something to show anyone who notices your little piece of harmony.

Now not of all of us have the time and willpower to come up with our own ideas. That’s fine too. There are a wide range of pre-built pondless water features with simple functions all the way to serious water falls. It is up to you and your final vision but you can check a few of these out.

Pondless water feature – Outdoor Pond-Less Water Fountain w/36″ & 24″ Dapple Gray Artificial Rock

Now this is for people who want a serious display and are willing to pay some bucks. It’s not for everyone but will definitely turn your garden into something amazing.

Pouring Water Bowls on Stone Fountain

This is another very amazing water feature for the enthusiast out there, quite a bit less stressing on the wallet but still awe inspiring. Honestly the pictures don’t do it justice, this thing is large and heavy!

Water Ripple Complete Ornamental Water Feature Kit

For someone looking for something much more reasonable and maybe a bit more modern this is something a very exciting to see. The way the water falls down the side is fantastic and the flowing sound of the water will send waves of relaxation out to all the ears that it touches.

Encore Water Bell Fountain by Woodstock Chimes

Now if you maybe want something anyone can afford or perhaps not as large as some of the others, this little beauty will give you all the comforts of the flowing sound of water with the music bells while being a bit more portable and compact.
